2026 Canadian Senior Chess Championship    

Sections: U50, Players born before Jan 1, 1977. U65, players born before Jan 1, 1962.

Time control: 90 min 30 seconds increment from move 1.

Location: Best Western Premier Plaza Hotel, 1316 33 st. NE Calgary, AB 

Schedule: June 27-30, 2026, 7 rounds.

Prizes: 80% of entries awarded in prizes, plus trophies for the champions.  

Ratings: FIDE/CFC rated. Rating used to determine category and for pairing purposes will be CFC regular rating. Players who played less than 5 CFC regular rated games will have their CFC quick rating used to determine rating if they played 25 rated quick games or more.  

Entry fees and registration: $120 until March 1st, $140, until May 1st, $160 until June 26, 8pm. $200, until 9 am June 27. All are subject to space availability. Maximum 100 total!

Membership: Full CFC membership is required in Open and Girls sections. All participants must have a CFC ID.

Accommodation: Special rate of $179 plus tax for double queen or king rooms and $309 for suite. Rooms include breakfast.

Refunds: Entry less $20 for Admin until June 1st. Entry less $60 fee until June 26th, 8 pm. No refunds afterwards.
