2026 Calgary Blitz Open  

Played after the Canadian Junior And Seniors Championship. This event is open to all!

Sections: Open to all/ Under 1800 Juniors only (born after January 1, 2006).

Time control:  3 min 2 seconds increment from move 1.

Location: Best Western Premier Plaza Hotel, 1316 33 st. NE Calgary, AB 

Schedule: June 30, 2026, 4:30-8 pm, 9 rounds.

Prizes: Open section: cash prizes depending on entries and 1st-3rd medals, and medals for: top female, top junior,  top 50 , top 65

Juniors under 1800: 1st-3rd/ top girl, medals.

Ratings: CFC Quick ratings. Juniors rated over 1800 in Regular or Quick ratings must play in the open section. The tournament is CFC/FIDE rated for open section, and CFC only for under 1800 juniors section.

Entry fees and registration: $30 until June 29, 8 pm (online only), June 30, 4:30-4:45 on-site only with cash $40.

Refunds: Entry less $10 for Admin until June 29th, 8 pm.  No refunds afterwards.
