Format:
- Open: CFC rated & FIDE rated. 5 round Swiss, Game in 90 minutes 30 seconds/move.
- U1500: CFC rated.7 round Swiss, Game in 45 minutes 30 seconds/move
- U1100: CFC rated 7 round Swiss, Game in 45 minutes 30 seconds/move

- Players must record all their moves. Assistance sheets will be provided upon request.

- Only Juniors born after January 1, 2007 are eligible.
Registration Cap:
The registration will be closed by 10:00 PM on Sept 18th, whichever comes sooner. Onsite registration will NOT be permitted.
- To sign up to the proper section, please use the highest rating between the regular and quick ratings (example shown below). Check your CFC rating at the link: https://www.chess.ca/en/ratings/
- Players can choose to play up a section which will be verified by the organizer the day of the tournament.

On-site check-in: 8:00am – 9:00am
Rounds 1-3 for Open: 9:30am, 2:00pm, 7:00pm or ASAP
Rounds 1-4 for U1500: 9:30am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm or ASAP
Rounds 1-4 for U1100 : 9:30am, 11:30pm, 1:00pm, 3:00pm or ASAP
Sunday, September 20:
Rounds 4-5 for Open: 10:00am, 3:00pm
Rounds 5-7 for U1500: 10:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm or ASAP
Rounds 5-7 for U1100 : 10:00am, 11:30pm, 1:00pm or ASAP
Tie-breaks Rules:
1) Head to head (if all those tied played each other).
2) Buchholz (Sum of all scores of opponents).
3) Buchholz cut 1 (Sum of all scores of opponents except the lowest point scorer).
4) Sonneborn-Berger (Sum of all scores of opponents you won against and half the scores of opponents you drew).
5) Most wins.
60 Minute forfeit time for open section, 30 min for all other sections
Draw offers cannot be accepted until move 30
Requested byes are 0.5 to a max of 2.5, last round byes are 0 points
Once pairings are done, any no shows (requested or not) is considered a forfeit and will result in CFC rating point loses
Prizes:
1st place in the Open section: One free entry to Alberta Junior Championship corresponding section, and a Trophy.
1st place in sections other than the Open: One free entry to Alberta Junior Championship corresponding section, and a Trophy.
2nd place in each section: Trophy.
3rd place in each section: Trophy
Top Girl in each section: One free entry to Alberta Junior Championship corresponding section, and a Trophy.
