Tie-Break Procedure:
Team awards:
In case for a tie for 1st or 2nd place the teams involved will play a single tie-break match on 4 top boards. The colours will alternate and the time control will be 3 2. If more than two teams tie, a round robin match will be played.
Individual awards:
In case of a tie for first place a two game tie-break match will be played with the time control of 3 2. If the tie involves more players, a single round-robin will be played with the same time control.
Ties for all other places will be broken the Alberta Chess Association tie-break criteria:
1) Head to head
2) Buchholz (sum of opponent scores)
3) Buchholz cut 1 (sum of opponent scores except the lowest point scorer
4) Sonneborn Berger (points of opponents you won against, and half of points of opponents you drew)
5) Most wins
6) Most games with the black pieces.
